A Post-Crisis reboot of Hawkman's mythos, this story follows privileged aristocrat Katar Hol as he questions the direction of Thanagarian society, joins the police force, is betrayed and disgraced, and then finally finds his purpose as Hawkman.

The series was popular and so a Hawkworld ongoing was launched the following year.
